What is a spam bot?
Simply put, a spam bot (with relation to phpBB) is a script that is able to register an account and/or post spam on your website.

There were so many it was actually easier to remove everything rather than remove them one-by-one. So, if you had posted any blog comments or forum posts, they were unfortunately buried under a pile of inappropriate comments and ads.  We have added some security features to prevent this from happening again, and we have vowed to keep a closer eye on these open pages.
